SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure and consistent way to connect their 12-speed chains. While it does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 12-speed drive trains mandated that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.
Flattop Design
SRAM's unique flattop chain link design adds material to the flat side of the chain link to increase strength. A hard chrome treatment on the pins inner plates and rollers increases chain life along with the long wearing larger diameter rollers.
