The Maxxis Minion DHF is the winningest downhill tyre (and also the most copied!) on the world cup circuit.
Don't let the DH in DHF scare you though, it's also found on the front of many enduro and trail riders bikes too. With its big moto-esque style square knobs the Maxxis Minion DHF is at its best on medium to hard pack surfaces, though is a great performer on most terrain. The famous Minion DHF side knobs are so damn good, Maxxis even used them on the Minion Semi Slick and Minion DHR2.
The Maxxis Minion DHF was originally designed as a front specific tyre, but has been used front and rear by countless pros in both the EWS and the World Cup Downhill races.
For a wicked trail tyre combo, run a Minion DHF on the front, with an Ardent or a 2.35" version of the Ikon on the back.
For a top Enduro set up, you can either run the Minion DHF front and rear or run it on the front with an Aggressor, Minion Semi Slick or the Minion DHR2 on the back.
If you mainly ride technical and frequently wet trails, you may want to check out the Maxxis Highroller 2.
Features:
Big Square knobs for lots of grip.
Great in a variety of conditions but excels in dry to damp, hard to medium soils.
Options for trail bikes through to downhill bikes.
